New Year’s Evil (1980)
“During a New Year’s Eve celebration, a Los Angeles disc jockey receives a phone call saying that when New Year’s strikes in each time zone, someone will be murdered – and she will be the last one.”
What we have here is a classic money grab based on the slasher theme of the 1980’s brought to us by the wonderful duo of Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, better know to the world as the faces of Cannon Films from 1979-1985 where they churned out such quality films as The Apple, Breakin’, Breakin’2: Electric Boogaloo, Lifeforce, Hercules, and Otello to name just a few.
This gem features fun mental patients, exciting motorcycle chases, nurses with questionable morals, mysterious champagne, confused young men wearing tights inappropriately, and a really really cool halloween mask.
Have a listen and see what we thought of it!! This time Swan and Bill are joined by the marvelous Jessi!
